How Verdant handles personal and garden data.

Last updated: April 2026. Verdant uses personal and garden context to provide coaching, recommendations, and alerts. This page mirrors the current privacy language used inside the app and presents it in a web-friendly format.

1. Data we collect

Information required to personalize the product

  • Account information such as email address and display name
  • Garden data including beds, plants, care logs, and uploaded photos
  • Location data for weather insight and climate-zone recommendations
  • Usage analytics collected in anonymized form through PostHog
2. How data is used

Context powers coaching, calendars, and alerts

  • To provide and improve the Verdant service
  • To generate personalized garden recommendations
  • To send optional notifications related to your garden
3. AI photo analysis

Photos are processed for the specific analysis requested

Verdant does not sell personal data. Photos sent for AI analysis are processed by the relevant AI provider and are not stored beyond the analysis session.

4. Data retention

Users can remove their account and garden data.

Verdant allows users to delete their account and associated data from inside the app through Settings / Account / Delete Account.

5. Security

Protection measures match the app architecture.

Verdant uses industry-standard encryption and Supabase Row-Level Security to protect user data throughout the service.
